Shane Delia heads to stunning Malta on a personal journey to uncover the history, cuisine and culture of this Mediterranean archipelago.
Situated in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, Malta has been visited or invaded by nearly every major Mediterranean civilisation over the course of its 9000-year history.
Starting in the present, each episode sees Shane travel further back in time to explore the legacy left by each culture, from the British all the way back to the Phoenicians and Malta’s original neolithic settlers
Across 6 episodes, Shane visits bustling fishing villages, spectacular cities, Malta’s rugged coastlines and the green farmlands of Gozo. He witnesses Malta’s spectacular Easter celebrations, plays the ancient game of brilli, and he even meets with a real Knight of Malta.
Throughout his journey, Shane shares meals with chefs, farmers, historians and his own family, cooking dishes that celebrate Malta’s unique culinary identity, one forged at the crossroads of the Mediterranean.
